Energetic Kinnection Dancing, a mashup of ecstatic and partner dancing, is an exploration of what emerges at the intersection of structured and unstructured dance, when two or more people attune to each others’ movement, with skill and curiosity.  With a few simple tools, a balance is struck between individual flow, and the invitation to co-creation.  In this dance, we de-emphasize touch and work directly with the energy between beings, allowing the intelligence of the partnership or collective to take the lead.

Testimonials

Energetic Kinnection Dancing was a truly delightful evening of play, presence, and connection. The excellent instruction fostered an atmosphere of warmth and sweet community connection in the room. The class was a balance between structure and spontaneity that created a container from which genuine safety unfolded, with each interaction feeling dynamic and vibrant. Highly recommend whether you are a seasoned partner dance or want to dip your toes into that world!

This practice supports an embodied experience of interbeing bridging dancers from partner dance, ecstatic dance, and first time dancers alike in a playful space of cocreative movement. Instead of a leader and follower, the practice is guided by a “third entity” or the “we space” allowing dancers to find an emergent flow of connection within freedom. Rather than learning dance steps, the practice has basic precepts (or guidelines) like mirroring, filling empty spaces, and soft focus that supports an intuitive expansion of partner dance repertoire. It’s fun, connective, and helps us feel more comfortable stretching beyond our own dance bubbles personally and collectively.

I had such an enjoyable experience at Energetic Kinnection Dancing. The instructors brought a really fresh approach to dance. There was this beautiful balance between structure and freedom that made it easy to drop into my own flow while also co-creating with others. The group energy was open, playful, and just plain fun. I loved how the space invited real connection, which was a credit to the warm and skillful facillation. I left feeling inspired, connected, and wanting more.
